Astronergy, a subsidiary of the Chint Group, will provide its thin film amorphous microcrystalline silicon technology (a-Si/uc-Si) photovoltaic (PV) panels for a 1.65MWp solar park in Thailand.

Astronergy's thin film panels will feature low voltage, high efficiency (approaching 10%), and competitive pricing.

Commissioning of the solar park took place on 28 October 2011.

In addition to thin film PV panels, additional Chint Subsidiary components were used including inverters and BOS system components.

Astronergy CEO Liyou Yang said thin film cells require less energy to manufacture and can be fabricated by a variety of processes.

The Chint Group and its subsidiaries will continue to collaborate with developers on future renewable energy projects.
