SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP) has commissioned the 105MW Ambuklao hydropower plant in the Philippines.

When the facility was acquired by the company in 2008, it had been shut down for close to nine years due to technical problems.

After three years of rehabilitation and refurbishment of the plant, SNAP has increased the capacity of the facility from the original 75MW to 105MW.

According to the company, the power plant is now also registered under the Clean Development Mechanism and is expected to generate 180,000 carbon credits.
