The Shaw Group has signed a new contract with Arizona Public Service (APS) to deliver maintenance, modifications, construction and radiological protection services to its Palo Verde nuclear generating station in the US state of Arizona.

Palo Verde nuclear plant consists of three reactors capable of producing about 4,000MW of electricity.

The undisclosed value of the three-year contract will be included in Shaw's Plant Services segment's backlog of unfilled orders in the first quarter of next year.

APS is a service electric utility and serves about 1.1 million customers in 11 of the state's 15 counties.

Shaw is a provider of engineering, construction, technology, fabrication, remediation and support services for clients in the energy, chemicals, environmental, infrastructure and emergency response industries.
