B&W secures $75m construction contract for Indiana power plant
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) has secured a contract worth over $75m to provide construction services for installation of environmental equipment at a coal-fired power plant in the US state of Indiana.
The environmental equipment will be installed at Northern Indiana Public Service Co's R.M. Schahfer power station in Wheatfield.
The company, through its Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co subsidiary, will erect and install two B&W-designed wet flue gas desulfurization (FGD) absorber vessels, and associated reagent slurry preparation and dewatering equipment for the facility's 465MW Unit 14 and 515MW Unit 15 coal-fired utility boilers.
The company will also procure and erect the absorber and dewatering island structural steel for the wet FGD systems.
