Foster Wheeler has secured a contract from Hyundai Engineering and Construction for the design and supply of four circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generators for the Mong Duong 1 thermal power plant in Vietnam.

The company will be responsible for the design and supply of the 4x250MWe (net megawatt electric) clean burning CFB steam generators and it will also provide site advisory services for the power project.

The power project is owned and developed by Vietnam Electricity and is financed by the Asian Development Bank and the Korean Exim Bank.

Commercial operations of the new generators will begin in 2015 and the steam generators will be designed to burn Vietnamese anthracite coal.

Foster Wheeler is a global engineering and construction contractor and power equipment supplier.
