Ambient Appoints New Vice President

Ambient Corporation has appointed Jim Fisher the company’s Vice President of Business Development for the Americas. Fisher has more than 20 years experience worked in the energy industry, working in a variety of roles in management, sales, and marketing. Fisher has a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from West Virginia University.

John J. Joyce, Ambient Corporation’s president and chief executive officer, says, “Jim brings extensive industry knowledge and business development expertise. As we look to expand our customer base and product offerings in 2012, I am confident that with the addition of Jim’s experience to our management team we are better positioned to grow our brand awareness throughout the industry. We are excited to have him join at this critical juncture.”
Prior to joining Ambient, Fisher spent the last seven years with Itron, in a number of positions, the most recent being Global Senior Director of Sales and Business Development. Earlier in his career he also worked with Schlumberger.

Fisher notes, “It is a very exciting time in the energy industry as utilities are evaluating their traditional vertical networks and looking towards integrated and unified smart grid applications. Ambient Corporation is well positioned with their communications platform for promoting a smarter grid.
