Spencer Ogden wins prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise
Spencer Ogden has won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the highest accolade any UK business can receive.
Spencer Ogden received the award for Enterprise in the International Trade category, which recognises substantial growth in overseas earnings and commercial success.
The award is given to businesses with outstanding achievement in international trade, innovation and sustainable development, and this year just 162 businesses were recognised.
“What an honour to receive such a prestigious award from Her Majesty the Queen. International expansion has been at the heart of our strategy since day one. In just over four years we have gone from an unknown business to one that has an influence across the globe.” David spencer-Percival says, CEO of Spencer Ogden.
Spencer Ogden was launched initially in London and Aberdeen with a team of 12 and now operates across 12 offices worldwide, including in America, Canada, Australia and Singapore with over 350 employees. Founded in 2010 by entrepreneurs David Spencer-Percival and Sir Peter Ogden, Spencer Ogden has gone from a standing start to one with an annual turnover of £50 million, with predicted earnings of £75 million in 2014.
“We have continued to innovate and expand our services in order to adapt to the constantly changing energy sector, which means expanding into new territories wherever and whenever possible,” says Spencer-Percival.
“We rely on the expertise of our staff to provide the highest quality of service to our clients. An award is a reflection of the hard work of your employees, and receiving the Queen’s Award is the perfect recognition of the continued dedication of our ever-expanding team at Spencer Ogden.”
The Queen’s Award, recognising businesses that make a valuable contribution to the UK economy each year, has been operating since 1966. This prestigious award places Spencer Ogden at the forefront of businesses in the UK and globally as the company continues to expand.
