Siemens to supply 1.3 GW gas power plant in Pakistan

Siemens has secured an order to supply a complete power island to a 1.3GW combined-cycle gas-fired power plant in Punjab, Pakistan. 

Siemens is expected to supply a complete power island solution for Punjab Power Plant Jhang, that will be built in Jhang, located 250km south-west of Lahore. 

Siemens power and gas division CEO Willi Meixner commented, “With this project we can help to significantly improve the sustainable, reliable and affordable supply of power to the people in Punjab Province and the whole country.”

The power island will feature a couple of SGT5-8000H gas turbines, an SST-5000 steam turbine, two heat recovery steam generators along with control and auxiliary systems.
