Engie has confirmed operations have begun at its onshore 10MW Cairnborrow wind farm in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

The wind farm is located 6km northwest of Huntly in Aberdeenshire, consists of five turbines with a maximum tip height of 100 metres. According to officials, the turbines will generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of more than 5,700 homes.

The company is offering a community benefit fund from the project that will provide local communities with either 10% of the profits or a guaranteed £5,000 annual payment for each megawatt of installed capacity generated, whichever is the highest value.
