Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has signed a deal with EDF Energy to acquire all of its UK electricity needs from renewable sources up to March 2020.

Ian Harnett, executive director of human resources and global purchasing and JLR, comments: “Our aim is to give our customers assurance that the company’s electricity will come from renewable sources: those being in addition to the solar array at our Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, one of the largest rooftop installations in Europe.”

JLR has also cut the energy per vehicle produced by more than 38% compared to 2007 in its UK manufacturing.
