European airplane manufacturer ATR has announced it has signed a $536 million deal with Iran Air for at least 20 aircraft units.

“They will definitely help Iran Air to modernize and develop regional connectivity across the country,” said ATR spokesman, David Vargas.

ATR is expected to deliver nine ATR 72-600s in 2017 and the remaining units in 2018. Farhad PArvaresh, CEO of Iran Air, also confirmed that four aircrafts will arrive within a month after signing the contract.
