GE Power has signed a services deal with a subsidiary of Sonelgaz for a value of more than $3 billion. This is the largest agreement that GE has ever signed, according to GE.

The 20-year contract with Sonelgaz SPE will require GE to provide long-term maintenance and operations services for 10 power plants in Algeria.

The power plants collectively produce 11 gigawatts of power, providing close to 70 percent of Algeria’s electricity, GE said.

The agreement builds on GE's growing footprint in Algeria, where it has had a presence for four decades.
