The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded General Dynamics a £330m defence contract.

General Dynamic will create next-generation communications system for the MoD that is expected to improve visual information and allow data to be shared more widely by the military.

Defence Secretary Michael Fallon said the contract "underlines the importance of Wales to our armed forces".

At present, the UK defence industry already employs close to 5,000 people in Wales, mostly in highly-skilled, highly-paid jobs.
