Siemens has finished an overhaul project for two SGT5-4000F gas turbines at Sohar 2 and Barka 3 combined cycle power plants in Oman.

The facilities are operated by Suez-Tractebel Operation and Maintenance Oman LLC (ENGIE STOMO). The projects are the latest in a series of orders showcasing Siemens’ capabilities as a total solutions provider for plants’ operators in the region.

Mike Maudsley, general manager of ENGIE STOMO, Oman LLC comments: “We chose Siemens to help us increase the efficiency and reliability of our power assets following the shortest possible inspection and overhaul outage.”

Siemens has been a key contributor to Oman’s infrastructure since 1972. The company’s technology has enabled Oman to conserve its valuable natural resources, thanks to energy-efficient gas turbines used in power generation.
