China’s electricity output from photovoltaic plants has risen by 80 per cent in the first quarter of 2017. 

The country’s total solar power output rose to 21.4 billion kilowatt-hours, according to the National Energy Administration. 

Central and eastern China accounted for about 89 per cent of new capacity, the NEA said.
