China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN) is reportedly in discussions with the Polish government with the view to building the country’s first nuclear power station.

The talks took place with a Polish delegation headed by Andrzej Piotrowski, deputy minister of energy in Shenzhen earlier this month, according to CGN.

"CGN has paid close attention to the Polish nuclear power market and is willing to become a long-term strategic partner of the country," Shu Guogang, vice president of CGN, said in a statement.

In 2014, Poland announced plans to build two nuclear power stations with total capacity of 6 million kilowatts. The first unit is scheduled for completion by 2030.
