Vestas secures deal to supply Mexico’s largest wind power project

Vestas Wind Systems A/S has agreed to supply 424 megawatts of turbines from Zumia Energia for Mexico’s largest wind project. 

The project is located in northeastern Mexico and each turbine will have a capacity of 3.45 megawatts. 

The agreement includes a 15-year service contract with turbine delivery planned for 2017. 

“Tamaulipas has a leading position in the country within wind energy,” said Angelica Ruiz Celis, Vestas managing director for Mexico and northern Latin America.
