Vestas Wind Systems A/S has agreed to supply 424 megawatts of turbines from Zumia Energia for Mexico’s largest wind project.

The project is located in northeastern Mexico and each turbine will have a capacity of 3.45 megawatts.

The agreement includes a 15-year service contract with turbine delivery planned for 2017.

“Tamaulipas has a leading position in the country within wind energy,” said Angelica Ruiz Celis, Vestas managing director for Mexico and northern Latin America.
