The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has released a new report that is forecasting Norwegian oil and gas investments to climb in 2018 after falling for the last four years.

The firm has said that by 2022, the combined output of oil and gas from the nation’s fields could reach record output mirroring performance that was last observed in 2004.

“This is very good news, because everybody is talking about a phasing out of the Norwegian petroleum activity and, at least in the next 10 years, we don’t see that,” explained NPD Director General Bente Nyland.
