The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced it will start building a $5.8 billion hydropower plant in the eastern Mambila region this year, reports Bloomberg. 
China Civil Engineering Corp. plans to build a 3,050-megawatt power plant within five years. 

The megaproject will feature four dams between 50 and 150 meters tall, and take six years to complete, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola
