Egypt plans to export surplus electricity later this year once three Siemens combined cycle plans become operational, according to Simens Egypt CEO, Emad Ghaly.

In 2015, Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding with Siemens that aimed to strengthen and develop the electricity grid until 2025.

The plan included solutions to problems in the electricity sector, coal, nuclear, and renewable industries.

Ghaly has praised the investment climate in Egypt and supports the government’s vision for the country’s long-term development of Egypt is a sign that the future holds further improvements.
