Yara Brasil Fertilizantes SA has opened a new fertiliser plant in Brazil.

Over $30 million was invested in the plant, which will specialise in producing foliar fertilizer for crops such as corn and soybeans.

The construction of the plant near the port of Santos reflects the company’s ambition to improve its market presence in one of the world’s fastest growing agricultural markets, according to data released by Anda.

In the past year, 25 percent of Yara’s global sales already come from Brazil.
