Report: Global wind power capacity to double by 2027

A consultancy firm has predicted annual wind power capacity will double by 2027.

MAKE Consulting, recently published a report that forecasts annual wind power capacity additions will average at more than 65 GW from 2018 to 2027. 

Within the report, the firm claims that offshore wind will grow and account for 50 percent of new capacity in Northern Europe, with the UK accounting for the majority of this capacity. 

Additionally, Germany and France will dominate the onshore market. Annual capacity is also expected to triple in the Middle East and Africa in 2027 as a direct result of growth across emerging markets.
