Principal SCADA Engineer with a background in SCADA and Communications design for Substation Utility or Generation clients. This unique opportunity will primarily consist of working with project teams on electric utility distribution system design, analysis, planning, protection, and consulting.System distribution design includes the application of the National Electrical Safety Code to provide strength and clearance calculations to be used in the design of electrical distribution facilities - both overhead and underground. Construction inspection using the same tools will also be required. Application of distribution system analysis software to provide system analysis of steady state and transient conditions, develop long-range and capital construction planning studies as well as performing protective coordination studies is also included in this job function. This position also has the potential to be involved in other distribution engineering services, including power quality reviews, reliability, distribution automation, smart grid, and communications. Position Requirements: Candidate must have 15+ years' experience with increasing responsibility in the electrical utility market.Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited University.Candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer in the United States.Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be able to work effectively both independently and in a team setting.Demonstrate a high motivation for success and a willingness to take on increasing responsibilities.Working knowledge of distribution construction standards and National Electric Safety Code.Be familiar with USDA Rural Utilities Services design bulletins and lending program requirements associated with planning and design.Proficient in the design, construction and maintenance practices of electrical distribution systems.
