Job Description: The M&R EI&C designer is responsible for developing the Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) drawings used to complete infrastructure improvement projects involving the installation or modification of electrical systems, communications systems and process measurement devices at natural gas regulation and associated pipeline facilities. The designer also assists in developing support detail and information documents for various engineering activities and projects as well as supporting material procurement and development of design standards.Skills: Design technicians must have advanced computer and applications knowledge.Communication skills are important to this role.Clear and precise drawings are needed to effectively convey the designs to the operational and construction groups.The designs this person provide need to be safe, ergonomic, and practical.Drafting experience utilizing MicroStation or AutoCAD, or similar. Education: An associate degree in the requisite scientific or technical field.Significant years of relevant design experience may be considered in leu of a technical degree.
Job Description: Primary responsibility of the position is to act as a project engineer and project support engineer for capital projects to ensure proper measurement design and mechanical design.Provide technical expertise in measurement equipment (Ultrasonic meters, Coriolis meters, Orifice meters, Gas Chromatograph, fuel meters, H2O Analyzer, H2S Analyzer, O2 Analyzer, CO2 Analyzer and Hydro Carbon Dew point Analyzer) with capital project execution with support on installation, diagnostic, configuration and troubleshooting of said equipment.The engineer frequently coordinates with other internal departments including; within our own MR&C engineering, pipeline engineering, storage and compression engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, Project Controls, Customer Account Managers, Customer Deliverability, Operational Technology, Gas Control and many others.As a project engineer, the individual's responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following: 50% Project scoping, design engineering and design review/support30% Equipment/material procurement and Construction coordination/support10% Equipment specification and development of department standards10% Field/O&M technical support Basic Skills/Requirements: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)Technical writing experience in writing engineering specificationsAbility to work on a team with diverse experiences and responsibilitiesProject Engineering ExperienceAbility to access, diagnose, and close gaps in process and projects (problem solver) Skills: The following skills and experience will set you apart from others: Familiarity with Michigan Gas Safety Code Masters or other advanced degree, ideally in a technical or scientific field of study Energy industry background that includes natural gas chromatography and metering equipment Knowledge gas measurement equipment and electronic flow measurementKnowledge of codes such as AGA, API, PHMSA, and gas measurement codesProfessional Engineering (PE) licenseComputer software and programs: microsoft office suite, SAP, Arriba, Measurement software Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field - Mechanical preferred.
Job Summary:This position has single point accountability for the projects they are executing. They will be under the general direction of a Sr. Project Manager. This position is responsible for the management of all phases of project planning and execution to ensure all project success factors are met, including but not limited to scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration. In addition, this position is highly involved in the funding management and budgeting of the project / program responsible. This position will work directly with a full project team on a daily basis that includes Project Controls, Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate, Environmental, Permitting & Community/Public Engagement to name a few. This position typically will be assigned projects classified as "Green " per the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix. Green projects typically range from $50 to $250M with a moderate to high level of complexity. These projects typically involve complex but mature technology, moderate scope complexity, and stakeholders that include facility and department level personnel in addition to Senior Management, and possibly the Board of Directors and External Agencies. The PM serves as the unifying agent providing leadership, management, direction, coordination, and control of the overall project in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. Responsibilities and Duties: Describe the major responsibilities and significant job duties required to successfully perform each responsibility. Indicate the approximate percentage of time spent on each responsibility during the year by order of overall importance or impact. 25% Establish and maintain communications among all project/programs stakeholders. Structure, lead, and/or assist in leading all project related meetings and reports required to ensure open communication between all team members, key stakeholders, and management (regular project reviews, kickoff meetings, weekly reports & monthly reports) and to properly report project status. Assure that Project Plan, all appropriate reports and reporting means are developed and managed according to PMCoE Standards. The PM manages all matrixed members of the team on a daily basis and is responsible for assuring all project deliverables (KPIs) are being met. 40% Plan the project (s) assigned to, including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspect of the project. Drive the process of project planning including scope definition, estimating, schedule formation and monitoring, cost control measures, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment selection, vendor selection, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes. This includes project planning and execution activities like scope definition, detailed design, construction, start-up and commissioning, turnover to operations, and warranty management. 25% Execute projects according to Plan within designed scope, cost and schedule limits. Includes objectives, stakeholders, scope, roles and responsibilities, assumptions and constraints, deliverables, WBS, schedule, external communication, regulatory strategy, procurement strategy, contractor and supplier strategy, resource plan, budget, lessons learned, risk plan, quality plan, safety plan, environmental plan, security plan, integration plan, data management plan, communications and reporting plan, change management, and project close out. 10% Effective Presentation Skills. Ability to create, develop and deliver project / business case presentations to Senior Management / project sponsors.
Responsible for substation engineering and consulting services for clients across the US and internationally. Main responsibilities include creating electrical protection & control and/or physical layout design deliverables. Projects range in size, complexity, and voltage class from small distribution equipment upgrades to large transmission projects. This position can influence the future of the resiliency, reliability and economic operation of the electric grid.
