Defining & implementing quality control related to Electrical Work as well as Civil & Electro Mechanical Work in accordance with project specifications & engineering standards.Analyzing substation equipment electrical work such as Installation of Power Transformer, Auxiliary Transformers, Switchgears & SVC Equipment.Conducting inspection of Electromechanical work related to HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Alarm/Firefighting and Lighting & Small PowerMonitoring & ensuring smooth implementation of QA/QC in the panel’s installation, testing and commissioning used at substations.Adhering to approved project time schedule and three weeks schedules for all contractorsPerforming material delivery verification for shortcomings and formulating additional material listLiaising & communicating with Contractors & Clients in supervising construction and implementation of quality workDrafting & presenting RFIs and Material Inspection Reports for client's inspection & approval, Nonconformance Reports (NCR) for non-conformance occurred in material or work executed, and daily, weekly and monthly QA/QC Reports.Prepare Quality reports such as daily reports, Monthly progress reports for submission to Quality manager and Project Management team.Holding review of status of Drawing Transmittal Sheet (DTS) and Drawing Control Sheet (DCS) along with Project Engineer and client for the approval of drawings.Coordinate with client/consultant for submittals/approval of drawings, materials, method statements & ITP’s.Preparation of Red Mark Up Drawings at site for As Built and submission to project management team for final submission.Executing Internal Audits at back office of other divisions/departments within Siemens companies and Site Audits frequently to attain client requirement or quality standardsFacilitating a strong safety culture at site, coordinate/support EHS team at site for implementing the basic and mandatory EHS requirement like 5 electrical safety rules, Hazard identification and Risk AssessmentImproving the customer satisfaction towards QA & EHS by ensuring that no major complaints received from the customerEnsuring: That projects successfully pass the internal QA & EHS assessments and/or audits without major findingsImplementation of the departmental procedures relating to NCR & NCC management, Document Management System at siteExecution of NCC management system by maintaining the closed coordination with the project team for recording the NCRs, NCCs and lesson learned.
SUMMARY The HV Project Engineer will provide engineering support to the E&C team, and is responsible for managing all stages of project design. This position reports to the Director of Engineering or anothersenior management personnel that the Senior Vice President/President of the Company may designate. This position may be expected to travel up to 25%.RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage all stages of project high voltage (HV) design, including conceptual and advanced systemdesign, observing regulatory codes, customer requirements, site visits, permitting and technicalsupport during construction phase;- Design and optimize HV engineering concepts for utility scale PV plants such as substations,transmission and distribution lines. interconnection switch gear, power transformers- Supervise PV plant interconnection in collaboration with the Project Manager during planning andconstruction to assure quality and execution according to schedule;- Prepare bidding documentation for project specific HV works and HV equipment;- Create, deliver, and maintain drawing packages and project documentation;- Manage and coordinate external resources such as engineer consultants, geotechnical andtopographic surveyors, other specialized professionals as needed in the design and commissioningof grid interconnection;- Direct internal and external designers and consultants in creating, delivering and maintainingdrawing packages and project documentation;- Work collaboratively with other operations team members on project execution and processdevelopment including project procurement, construction management, and project controls;- Develop and review project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scopes of work,standards and quotes from suppliers and sub-contractors- Provide supervision to HV commissioning work- Coordinate with utilities and regulators for the interconnection process- Provide recommendations for continuous improvements in project designs, plans, processes andproduct development;- Lead the Project Engineering team in developing best practices for the HV engineering process ofutility scale PV plants- Assist with technical training for team members and new employees;- Collaborate with team members when necessary to ensure effective communication and results;and- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- A degree in Electrical Engineering or another related engineering science- Minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience in the power industry- Relevant work experience in the design and development of power plants- Willingness to travel, at least 25% of the time- Experience with AutoCAD (or equivalent)- Experience with power modeling (preferably with ETAP)- Strong in Microsoft Office Suite- Experience with Gantt charts (MS Project or equivalent)- Knowledge of relevant HV Codes and regulation- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player- Previous experience managing projects from initial design to installation and execution, preferred- Experience in permitting processes with local authorities having jurisdiction, preferred.
