The Assistant Project Manager reports directly to the Project Manager (or equivalent) and is responsible for the direction and leadership of all activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of the contract(s) assigned to them.
This post has the responsibility to ensure delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule. This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project

We are looking for Project Managers to join our Main Civil Works Programme of the HPC Project. The Main Civil Works project will deliver the Civil Engineering scope for nearly 70 buildings across the site and is the single largest contract at HPC.As a Project Manager you will provide leadership to ensure the effective delivery of activities in the programme to time, cost, safety, and quality, while recognising and managing the impacts of the programme on the wider ProjectWhat you’ll be doing…As a Project Manager, you will: Define the work scope to be delivered within the contract and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.Assist in securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.Develop and implement strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised, and executed.Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work.Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within the contract or package. Working in one of the Project Controls Teams within the HPC Project, under the direction and leadership of the PCM Lead, to lead the development, implementation, use and maintenance of Integrated Project Controls processes within the Transverse Programme or Area, or a subdivision thereof (henceforth "Programme"). This will include oversight of day-to-day management, staffing, and the implementation of Integrated Project Controls standards and processes.To be responsible for the direction and co-ordination of all Integrated Project Controls activities associated with the design, manufacture, construction and commissioning of the Programme work scope within safety, quality, time and cost milestones. Each delivery programme specifies their quality requirements which in turn are delivered by a team of Quality Engineers. You will form part of the Quality Management Branch and provide quality related services, responsible for acting as the 'Intelligent Customer' in the capacity of ensuring that appropriate quality arrangements are in place and effectively implemented by the supply chain in these programmes.The primary role of the QML is to provide first line leadership and oversee the quality assurance and control activities performed by the Quality Engineers. The QML will ensure QEs apply proper use and adhere to the appropriate processes and procedures when delivering to the quality requirements set out by the respective programmes. This is a challenging but rewarding role where you will lead a team of QE and work in close collaboration with the respective Quality Delivery Managers, contracted inspection agencies (e.g Direction Industrielle), supply chain partners, as well as internal and external regulators. The SkillsThe successful candidate will have the essential skills, experience and qualifications required: Solid understanding of the Quality Assurance and Control requirements in major projects across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning.Degree qualified in a related Engineering or Science based discipline, or equivalent qualification, proven track record on influencing and negotiating in technical and non-technical discussions, knowledge & understanding of nuclear site license conditions including the nuclear sector, ideally new build, ability to work autonomously and support the Quality Delivery Manager.Working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute & Chartered Quality Professional would be advantageous, proven experience in project delivery, preferably in the nuclear power sector, with significant focus on project quality.Experience of interfacing with project teams and with supply chain organisations, ability to present quality matters and solutions to a wide-ranging audience.

This will include the timely and accurate maintenance of the Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in adherence with HPC processes, management of Level 3 (contract) schedules, and provision of time-related data and analysis. To assist and support the Central Controls Team when required to ensure alignment with the Level 2 (client) IWS. Principal AccountabilitiesTeam:• Support the IPC Planning Manager and/or PCM in the implementation and maintenance of Integrated Project Controls processes for Planning, including the production of monthly reports, through the provision of intelligent information and analysis;• Collaborate with other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls, as well as other Project Support Functions, to help deliver Project goals in keeping with the HPC principles of Trust, Transparency and Teamwork;• Maintain an awareness of schedule interfaces with other Programmes and their potential impact. The Sequence 2 Team in Plant Integration within HPC Engineering Directorate has to ensure that the HPC design is : Delivered with the quality required, Mature enough to build the HPC safety case,Consistent in terms of configuration,Fit for procurement, construction, commissioning and operation. As a Sequence 2 Engineering Lead , you will be involved in the management of the studies performed by the Responsible Designer (RD, corresponding to Edvance, CNEPE, ITB), for the scope of Nuclear Safety and Licensing activities, so called "Sequence 2" (safety and qualification, fault studies, severe accidents, radiological consequences, probabilistic safety assessments, hazards studies, human factor studies, mechanical structural integrity, environmental Studies, decommissioning studies).Nature and ScopeThe Technical Integration Branch (TIB) in NNB Plant Integration (PI) has to ensure consistent overview of : the safety studies (sequence 2) performed by the Responsible Designer (underpinning references), supporting the intermediate documents and the top tier of the safety case managed by NNB TCO,the integrated design through management of configuration,design + referential change control, design open point management, the data management processes for Engineering.
The Senior Radiography Coordinator ensures the smooth running of the onsite functioning of the Radiography Support Team's or third-party radiography resource and any other NNB Radiography coordination resource. The requirements for radiography will be identified within the contractor's workscope by Engineering standards both EDF and international. Contractors shall justify and agree the NDT technique and amount of on-site NDT, then request Radiography through the Senior Rradiography Coordinator. The Senior Radiography Coordinator will check the adequacy of planning and preparations and will de-clash the operation between Tier 1 Contractors considering the areas concerned, shift patterns and clearing of areas of personnel prior to radiography taking place in accordance with the HSE guidelines and Company Standards. They will ensure work is adequately planned, coordinated, prepared, and risks managed for the work to proceed safely, to time and quality by the Contractor.The Senior Radiography Coordinator will take an overview of radiography performance in delivering the Construction Plan for radiography across HPC site and have a broad understanding of all the radiography work being undertaken. Ensuring potential clashes are avoided and optimising the strategy so that all radiography is delivered safely and with the required quality. The Senior Radiography Coordinator will request forward plans of work and anticipate future risk and issues and be proactive in managing them. They will also need to play a pro-active role in the broader HPC Delivery team.
