We are currently seeking a Site Manager / Construction Manager to join our Construction Team. This role will be assigned to specific project sites and may also be required to support multiple sites; travel is required. This position will be responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and running the daily activities and operations on construction sites including ensuring strict compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Site Manager will consult and collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other project personnel while ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget as required and specified and must have the ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure. In addition, the candidate will be required to interface with company, client, and contractor/vendor personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, plan, coordinate and monitor performance and progress of site construction activities
  • Implement and enforcing safety and quality guidelines; perform safety briefings
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers and keep accurate track of material stocks and consumption on site
  • Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, and resource allocation
  • Make recommendations on personnel needs and/or subcontractors in order to ensure work is completed in accordance with the project schedule
  • Quality control, subcontractor, and inspection coordination
  • Provide updates to project plans, schedules, and progress reports, which include contractor's and sub-contractor's activities, while maintaining a daily log of site operations with daily progress photos
  • Monitor project cost trends and ensure completion within budget
  • Manage and coordinate on-site visits
  • Ensure that teams on site work safely and cooperatively with the sole aim of completing a project while adhering strictly to all HSE requirements, deadlines, specifications, and codes
  • Ensuring that the construction site remains safe, clean, and orderly

Qualifications, Skills, Experience, Personal Attributes.

  • The preferred candidate should hold a fully accredited, university degree in engineering, construction management, or other related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience; experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Civil and Electrical background preferred.
  • Good computer skills required in Microsoft Office with knowledge of planning software such as MS Project.
  • The candidate must have a strong understanding of HSE processes, project planning & scheduling, risk management and change management processes.
  • It is also essential to the role that the candidate have strong leadership skills and excellent time management skills.

The client values quality of life and flexibility for their employees and strives to help their team members achieve their career goals.Job Description:The client seeks motivated and energetic candidates to join their team as a Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager to support the development and execution of several sequential utility-scale battery energy storage projects from late-stage development through commissioning. The Project Manager will report to the company’s Director of Construction.The Project Manager will work closely with the Project Developer during the development process and ensure a proper handoff to the project team during late-stage development. During project execution, the Project Manager will manage the project design, permitting, contractor and vendor selection and contracting, and all construction and commissioning activities culminating with turnover to Asset Management (Operations). The Project Manager will be ultimately responsible for the project schedule and budget. The Project Manager will collaborate with the project team, including the Project Engineer and Construction Manager during project execution.Key Responsibilities• Overall responsibility for the project schedule and budget.• Manage engineering consultants with support from the engineering team during project development, permitting, pre-construction, and construction.• Support project objectives by reviewing and approving project engineering proposals and design documents during pre-construction and construction.• Maintain an engineering issues log, RFI log, and submittal log during project execution and identifying project responsibilities and assigning personnel to tasks with definitive due dates.• Prepare and manage the overall project schedule through commissioning, COD and hand-off to asset management, tracking to major project milestones throughout and reporting weekly on schedule variances.• Prepare bid documents for contractor and subcontractor selection, including scopes of work and work schedules.• Support procurement of owner-supplied equipment and managing vendors through contracting, delivery, and installation of major equipment.• Facilitate and lead meetings with the project team, maintaining meeting minutes, and identifying project responsibilities and assigning personnel to tasks with definitive due dates.• Prepare project status reports on a weekly and monthly basis during project execution for internal management review and investor/board updates.• Ensure project design complies with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for securing all permits required for construction and operation of the project.• Prepare the initial project budget with the finance team. Ultimately responsible for the project budget during execution, including weekly and monthly updates on budget variances.• Maintain a risk register to identify and communicate key risks throughout project execution.• Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals during project execution. Maintain production logs for work put in place for future reference for project lessons learned, and schedule and budget forecasting.Quality Assurance:• Verify that project execution during construction agrees with all IFC design drawings.• Assist third-party/IE partners in confirming project performance by meeting with them during site visits and overseeing tests.• Document control, including management of all project contracts.
