Opportunities to advance into leadership roles are available.Position may include leading or executing the following assignments: Preparation of proposals and scope development, including conceptual designs and execution plansPrepare engineering cost and man-hour estimates and schedulesPhysical substation design including yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of materialProtection and control design including panel arrangements, one lines/single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementaries, equipment wiring and relay panel wiringPrepare calculations and reports for engineering studies (grounding, lightning protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.)Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testingCoordinate design activities with other departments (Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, etc.)Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team membersRegularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnelPerform quality reviews for other engineers and designersProvide short term field support during constructionSupport business development and marketing initiativesOther areas of involvement may include: relay settings, 3D/intelligent design, or industry/professional technical committee involvement Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program Minimum 3 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)Completion of FE exam strongly preferredProficiency with National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI StandardStrong preference for those with: Excellent written & verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsCapability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures and criteria
