The role is one of strong leadership and credible representation of the Organisation, with all stakeholders and potential partners, as well as within the Organisation.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
o Liaison with potential partners:
▪ Develop relationships with industry players and potential partners for the organisation in the country
▪ Negotiate, structure, and implement one or more strategic partnerships in the Philippines
o Due diligence and analysis of project information:
▪ Review and extract relevant project information (project planning, permitting, land/seabed lease, supplier/EPC contracts, grid connection, financing and PPA/offtake agreements)
▪ Perform due diligence on this documentation; summarise key technical, commercial and financial risks and opportunities to support financial close / investment committee processes
o Develop, review and optimise the project business case:
▪ Drive business case development, optimisation and risk management, discussing with partners to form an aligned, factual and realistic case
▪ Highlight deviations between the Organisation investment committee business case (considering DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX) and evolving realities on-the-ground
o Project development interface:
▪ Assess project planning and development milestones in cooperation with and sometimes supporting Organisation network companies, flag risk items and make suggestions for optimal use of DEVEX and other actions to overcome project obstacles
o Manage third party consultants:
▪ Manage contracts and deliverables from technical and regulatory/permitting consultancies, appointing new ones as required
o Public and Regulatory Affairs (prior to appointment of full-time FTE)
▪ Develop a strong network with relevant central government departments and drive liaison and influencing initiatives for the organisation
▪ Manage local stakeholder groups/govt. close to project sites
▪ Deliver analysis and advisory on key renewables policy and regulatory issues, evaluating key project risks and opportunities
▪ Contribute to development of the organisation identity and public relations in the Philippines
o Closely coordinate with investment teams on development:
▪ Regular reporting on development status and due diligence
▪ Hosting and coordination of project review committees
o Develop the foundations for development and execution organization in the Philippines
▪ This position will be the first employee for the organisation in the Philippines, creating a fantastic opportunity to lay the foundations for and shape the organisation
