Position Description
The client provides its customers with reliable, low-cost renewable products across the United States. This role is focused on origination with western market customers for new renewable development projects. The role is exclusively focused on utility-scale origination. Prior knowledge of, and relationships with western US utilities is a key requirement for this role. The candidate will be an active part of the team with regard to strategic decisions on pipeline development as well. Key activities will include arranging customer meetings, planning/managing/facilitating RFP responses, engaging in bilateral offers to utilities, and partial or full responsibility for PPA negotiations. Some familiarity with the C&I market is also beneficial and expected.
Overview
This origination role is responsible for leading and managing discussions, proposals, negotiations, and contracts for new generation and storage projects. Key to this role is managing the customer and prior experience working with western US customers and familiarity with their PPAs and negotiating points. In this role, the candidate will manage all dimensions of the origination and business transaction process.
Specific Day-to-Day Activities
Track and manage response to issued RFPs
Develop relationships with customers including a significant amount of travel

The main focus is developing renewable energy power plants across the United Kingdom with the help of their highly experienced management team and partners to allow them to deliver quality, bankable renewable power assets. Their focus is on the development of large-scale solar, wind and hybrid energy storage projects. Role: In this role you will be working closely alongside the grid manager, and if required the key management team members and land acquisition team. Supporting the Grid team in identifying and securing grid capacity both on the distribution level and national transmission level from 11kV up to 400kV network for its large-scale solar, wind and BESS projects. You will be responsible for managing financial modeling, conducting due diligence, and conducting market research for infrastructure asset acquisitions, company investments, and project financing transactions. This position collaborates across the Investment, Project Finance, and Strategic Finance teams, providing support and analysis to optimize new and existing investments, as well as high-level company economics. Additionally, you will work closely with other teams within Renewable Energy Developer to develop and understand development, construction, and operating assumptions for both new investment opportunities and portfolio assets.This position directly contributes to the company's growth by screening new investment opportunities and analyzing investment strategies. You will also support the company's expansion by screening and underwriting new buyside investment opportunities, as well as working with the Origination team to price and submit offtake opportunities on development-stage projects. The role is based in New York, NY.Essential Responsibilities & Duties • Develop and manage financial models to analyze the economics and risks associated with potential acquisitions, company investments, and project financing structures.• Support transactions across the Investment, Project Finance, and Strategic Finance teams.• Create investment memos that detail market analysis and returns sensitivities for potential project and portfolio acquisitions. Communicate results and recommendations to the management team.• Assist in third-party capital raises, including debt, tax equity, refinancings, and project equity structures to efficiently finance projects and optimize returns.• Collaborate with internal teams, including Development & Construction, Engineering, and Asset Management, to develop underwriting assumptions.• Manage due diligence and third-party consultant reports. Coordinate directly with external parties.• Support the growth of the development pipeline by working with the Origination team to determine competitive bid pricing based on project assumptions, capital structures, and market dynamics. • Review purchase agreements, operating agreements, financing agreements, and offtake agreements, and provide contract support in negotiations.Experience Requirements• 2-5 years of experience in the Renewable Energy Industry, Utilities
