+ Provides estimates for each project phase: conceptual, schematic design, design development, and construction documents
+ Prepare detailed cost estimates via industry accepted methods such as RS Means for large projects.
+ Prepares or assists in the preparation of order-of-magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques
+ Performs cost comparison analyses between in-house estimates and contractor estimates
+ Works with Project Managers and other disciplines to evaluate the appropriateness of budgets
+ Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for cost estimates
+ Prepares project and discipline estimate summaries Basis of Estimate
+ Prepares detailed quantity take-offs on design and construction documents as required.
+ Provides technical assistance and advice in negotiating contracts and pricing change orders.

Job Description:Primary owner to the design function of assigned projects that install or maintain overhead and underground equipment for various company projects requiring communication and coordination between Distribution, Substation, Transmission engineering, field and support personnel, company management, and external entities. Under minimal direction, develops the scope and cost estimates, design and drawing layout, labor, equipment and material specifications necessary to accurately estimate costs for the most complex and technically demanding projects. Performs office and field technical work to determine design and customer requirements for electric facilities according to company standards. Works with city, county, state, company, and other personnel as needed to optimize the design criteria for electric installations and modifications. Assists and works with other company departments and external entities on requests and specialized services as needed to support the company. Job Summary:This position has single point accountability for the projects they are executing. They will be under the general direction of a Sr. Project Manager. This position is responsible for the management of all phases of project planning and execution to ensure all project success factors are met, including but not limited to scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead electrical design project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs. Lead electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
