Job Description Client seeks motivated and energetic candidates to join our team as a Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager to support the development and execution of several sequential utility-scale battery energy storage projects from late-stage development through commissioning. The Project Manager will report to the company’s Director of Construction.

The Project Manager will work closely with the Project Developer during the development process and ensure a proper handoff to the project team during late-stage development. During project execution, the Project Manager will manage the project design, permitting, contractor and vendor selection and contracting, and all construction and commissioning activities culminating with turnover to Asset Management (Operations). The Project Manager will be ultimately responsible for the project schedule and budget. The Project Manager will collaborate with the project team including the Project Engineer and Construction Manager during project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the project schedule and budget.

• Manage engineering consultants with support from the engineering team during project development, permitting, pre-construction, and construction.

• Support project objectives by reviewing and approving project engineering proposals and design documents during pre-construction and construction.

• Maintain an engineering issues log, RFI log and submittal log during project execution, and identifying project responsibilities and assigning personnel to tasks with definitive due dates.

• Prepare and manage the overall project schedule through commissioning, COD and hand off to asset management, tracking to major project milestones throughout and reporting weekly on schedule variances.

• Prepare bid documents for contractor and subcontractor selection including scopes of work and work schedules.

• Support procurement of owner-supplied equipment, and managing vendors through contracting, delivery, and installation of major equipment.

• Facilitate and lead meetings with the project team, maintaining meeting minutes, and identifying project responsibilities and assigning personnel to tasks with definitive due dates.

• Prepare project status reports on a weekly and monthly basis during project execution for internal management review and investor/board updates.

• Ensure project design complies with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for securing all permits required for construction and operation of the project.

•Prepare the initial project budget with the finance team. Ultimately responsible for the project budget during execution, including weekly and monthly updates on budget variances.

• Maintain a risk register to identify and communicate key risks throughout project execution.

• Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals during project execution. Maintain production logs for work put in place for future reference for project lessons learned, and schedule and budget forecasting.

 

Quality Assurance

• Verify that project execution during construction agrees with all IFC design drawings.

• Assist third-party/IE partners in confirming project performance by meeting with them during site visits
