Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Environmental Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental safety, fall protection, as well as proficiency in conducting root cause analysis and investigations. This role requires regular travel to our site in Mojave, CA to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with environmental safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and promote a safe work environment.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in fall protection and safety measures to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Perform root cause analysis on incidents and accidents to identify underlying causes and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.

  • Stay up to date with the latest environmental safety regulations and industry best practices, and ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support in emergency response situations, including developing emergency response plans and conducting drills.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental safety matters and provide guidance to management and employees on safety-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental safety, preferably in the renewables industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fall protection and safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Proven experience in conducting root cause analysis and investigations in a thorough and systematic manner.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze safety data and metrics.
  • Ability to travel to the Mojave, CA site 1-2 times per week.
  • Professional certifications in environmental safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) are highly desirable.
