The Structured Finance team is committed to helping my client finance and commercialize 25GW by 2025 having helped financing 2.2 GW and raise $3.3bn of debt and tax equity financing in the USA since 2019. To support our mandate, our team is looking for a highly motivated and analytical Director or Senior Director of Structured Finacne who has a strong interest in joining a dynamic and high performing team to capitalize on substantial deal flow for a top tier platform in the U.S. The individual will be responsible for supporting project finance debt/tax equity transactions from the initial capital raising stage to final funding events. In addition, the individual will be responsible for conducting financial analyses for offtake contract origination, M&A opportunities, and undertake miscellaneous analytic tasks.
Duties
Lead negotiations and structuring with financing counterparties for large-scale solar assets, including tax equity, construction debt, term debt, and other financial products
Manage teams performing all aspects of transaction execution including project marketing, negotiation of financing terms, investor due diligence, structuring and financial modeling, and transaction closing
Lead valuation, due diligence, negotiation, and financing of late-stage project acquisitions
Provide guidance to Power Marketing and Project Development teams regarding financial structuring and investor appetite for new offtake structures
Prepare and present project acquisition opportunities and other business initiatives to the Investment Committee and other senior executives
Qualifications & Experience
6+ years of professional experience working in renewable energy project financeincluding firsthand experience closing multiple project debt and tax equity financings
Successful track record of managing project finance and M&A transactions from beginning to end

The client is also responsible for training analysts to model and market solar and storage projects to potential off-takers, determining pricing and product structures, and collaborating closely with the Executive Team to contribute to forward-looking platform strategies and Business Development team growth.The ideal candidate for the client should have strong analytical and pro-forma modelling skills, prior experience in executing commercial transactions in U.S. power markets, and a demonstrated track record in structuring and negotiating off-take agreements. They should also have 7+ years of relevant work experience in the energy industry, with a preference for utility-scale solar, and existing relationship networks in the sector. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's degree/MBA preferred. Proficiency in ERCOT market structure and off-take opportunities and battery storage offtake contracts (tolling agreements, revenue share, etc.) is also preferred.

The role will see you managing a team of field based and office-based staff, committed to the origination of projects for the development team to deliver into operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the UK origination team in the identification and onboarding of utility-scale solar PV and storage projects via our in-house GIS platform, wider market links, traditional site-finding activity or acquisitions.Ensure business case for prospects is clearly understood and met in bringing opportunities to the business. Drive and optimise each prospect with respect to design, grid, planning, land etc., through financial analysis and modelling of each project.Provide knowledge and support to the team, including the identification and assessment of new opportunities.Site origination, energy yield analysis, project viability, grid connections, land agreement negotiations, commercial agreements, project design, planning process etc.Take responsibility for exploring, building, and managing an origination team in selected new markets.Take a leading role in the commercial negotiations during the project acquisition process. This includes taking responsibility for liaising with any advisors and the execution of the transaction documentation with support from the wider team. Qualifications, experience and attributes Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.Experience, ideally coming from an energy background 8+ years’ experience working in a relevant industry.Proven background in developing an international pipeline of quality projects through land acquisition and into development.Strong commercial knowledge and a proven ability in risk management and relevant negotiations. Ability to solve complex problems and have the ability to engage, lead and motivate a team. Extensive knowledge and understanding of energy project origination, stakeholder management and experience in reporting of team performance.Proven ability in project acquisition including strong knowledge of sales processes, due diligence (technical, legal, and corporate) and transaction documentation.
