ADNOC aims to double petrochemicals capacity by 2030

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co has announced its plans to double its downstream refining and petrochemicals capacity with a new 2030 strategy. 

“Today we produce 4.5 million tonnes of polyolefines and another 2 million tonnes of fertilisers. We are going to double our petrochemical production to over 11 million tonnes per annum by 2025,” said ADNOC’s refining and petrochemicals director, Abdulaziz Abdulla Alhajri. 

The UAE firm also plans to increase gasoline production to 10.2 million mt/y, from around 6 million mt/y currently, along with 1.4 million mt/y of aromatics. 

Sultan Ahmed al-Jaber comments: "Under its new 2030 strategy and five-year business plan, ADNOC will diversify and increase production of its petrochemical portfolio, while opening new markets to ensure sustained profitability"
