16 Jan 2015
Alstom has been awarded two contracts where the company will supply and maintain the power island of the 950 MW Kirikale combined-cycle power plant in Turkey.

The plant, which is worth over €220mn, was developed by the local subsidiary of ACWA Power and includes Samsung C&T Corporation as a shareholder. The project is expected to begin in May 2017.

Under the project, Alstom will supply the main power equipment including two GT26 gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), one steam turbine and three turbogenerators to Samsung Construction and Trading (SCT), which will be responsible for the engineering and procurement and construction on turnkey basis.

Alstom will also install and commission field advisory services to SCT during the construction phase and ensure long-term maintenance services for up to 20 years after commissioning.

This project will be critical for the organisation and will need to generate maximum project returns for their customer base.
