Apple Inc. plans to sell excess solar power

Apple has announced that it has formed a new subsidiary called Apple Energy which will sell excess solar power that has been generated by its farms in Nevada.


Once FERC has approved Apple’s request, the tech company could sell power directly to customers across the U.S.


Apple currently generates 93 percent of its global energy needs and plans to investment in capacity to meet and exceed its future growth requirements.
