Areva awarded $88.9M contract in Brazil

Areva, the French nuclear multinational, have signed a contract worth $88.9 million with Electrobas Electronuclear for mechanical and electrical equipment designed for the unfinished Angra 3 reactor in Brazil.

The project includes diesel engines, a variety of appliances and controls, and specialised equipment for storage of spent fuel. Areva will also install and commission service work for these components. 

The company currently has a $1.5 billion engineering and commissioning services and equipment supply contract for the Angra 3 reactor.
