Brazil's BNDES nabs $100 million for renewables from Japanese banks

Brazilian development bank BDNES has secured US$100 million from Japanese entities for renewable energy projects.

The agreement for the line of credit was subscribed by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) the Bank of Tokyo-Mistubishi and Mizuho Bank.

The resources will be channelled into BNDES Green Line, which supports climate projects and renewable energy. Already there are four deals between Brazilian entities and JBIC for resources through the Green Line.

BNDES operates various lines of credit for renewable energy projects, among these lines of credit specifically for solar PV projects.
