23 Apr 2014
Houston based company, Calpine has agreed for LS Power to pick up six of its natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power plants in south-eastern U.S. for $1.57 billion in cash.

LS Power, a privately held power and energy infrastructure owner, has released a statement highlighting the quality and reliability of the power plants in its decision to purchase.

The plants generate over 3,500 MW of power and feed to investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, cooperatives and other market players.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter following approval from regulators and third parties.
