Cavendish Fluor Partnership preferred bidder for £7bn nuclear decommissioning

04 Apr 2014
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority has named the Cavendish Fluor Partnership as the preferred bidder for a £7 billion nuclear decommissioning contract.

The Cavendish Fluor Partnership will become responsible for taking 12 nuclear sites into the final stages of decommissioning. The Partnership will take ownership via the transfer of shares of the two site licence companies on 1 September 2014.

The sites include ten Magnox reactor sites that made up the first generation of civil nuclear power plants in the UK, including Hinkley, Sizewell and Dungeness, and a further two former nuclear research centres at Harwell and Winfrith.
