China's National Offshore Oil Corp to double LNG capacity by 2015

26 Sep 2013
China National Offshore Oil Corp have said that they expect to add five liquid field natural gas (LNG) receiving terminals by 2015, doubling its total capacity to 35-40 million tonnes per year.

As the world’s top energy consumer, China aims to raise the share of natural gas in its energy mix from 5% to 8% by 2015.

The growth in the number of terminals will enable China’s top offshore oil explorer to import more LNG to meet the strong demand growth in the country.

China National Offshore Oil Corp will commission a Floating Storage Regasification Unit in the city of Tianjin and a conventional terminal in Zhuhai by the end of the year.
