China Shenhua Energy secures contract to build power plant in Indonesia

China Shenhua Energy Co. Ltd, the Hong Kong-based coal miner, has confirmed their commitment to build coal-fired power plants in Lampung, aiding to provide a greater supply of electricity to the region.

The company have signed a memorandum of understanding, and under the agreement two 350MW mine-mouth power plants will be built.

Also in the agreement is the commitment to establish other power plants with a total capacity of 6 power plants with 350MW.

The Lampung administration has recently prepared strategies to reach a target of 35,000MW electricity supply by the end of 2019.
