Construction begins on $1bn Gold Coast hotel

Construction has started on a $1 billion hotel development in Queensland, Australia. The hotel hopes to boost the high end tourism market in the Gold Coast.

The world’s largest developer, China’s Wanda Ridong Group is behind the construction of the luxurious beachfront development.


The Jewel development in Surfers Paradise is scheduled to open in 2019 and is expected to generate 2,700 jobs during the construction phase.
