Construction begins on Huntingdon power plant

Construction has begun on a natural gas-fuelled power plant in South Huntingdon worth more than $780 million.


The plant will house two natural gas- and one steam-powered turbine and is expeted to generate up to 925 megawatts of electricity.


According to officials, 300 jobs will be created in order to build the plant over the next three years. An additional 25 full-time employees will be needed to operate the plant once it has been completed in 2018.
