Doosan Heavy Industries, South Korea’s leading power equipment maker, has signed a contract to build a US$308 million to build a power plant in Kazakhstan.
Under the contract, Doosan Heavy will build a coal-fired power plant with a 310MW capacity within Atyrau Province on the northern banks of the Caspian Sea. Doosan will manage the design, production, construction and commissioning.
The construction of the power plant is set to be completed by February 2018.
Kazakhstan and its surrounding Central Asian countries plan to build power plants with a combined output of 23GW by 2020.
