Dublin Airport has confirmed that it will build a new €320m runway which will require 7,000 workers during the construction phase.
The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) plans to build the new runway 1.6 kms north of the existing main runway at Dublin Airport.
According to the DAA, the North Runway development could potentially improve connectivity to a range of long-haul destinations, particularly in fast growing economies in Asia, Africa and South America.
The project will be completed by 2020 and 1,200 jobs will be generated during the first phase of construction in 2017.
