E.ON Climate & Renewables (EC&R) North America has unveiled a 200MW wind energy project located in Willacy County, Texas, US.
The Magic Valley Wind Farm, which is located about five miles east of Raymondville, is powered by 112 Vestas 1.8MW turbines.
EC&R North America CEO Steve Trenholm said, "We appreciate the support this community has given us helping harvest a new source of clean renewable energy from these cotton and sorghum fields."
Blattner Energy was in charge of the wind farms construction, which is claimed to be Willacy County's first.
The wind energy project can power over 60,000 households in the state, and is the company's 16th operational wind farm in North America.
EC&R current wind portfolio stand at 2,000MW in the state Texas; the company has invested more than $4bn in the US in the last four years.
