EDF confirms plans to build UK nuclear plant following Brexit vote

24 Jun 2016

Utility giant, EDF has confirmed its commitment to build a nuclear power plant at Hinkley Point, saying it will have ‘no impact’ on the project.

"EDF confirms its commitment to the Hinkley Point project, which continues," said an EDF spokeswoman on Friday.

The £18 million project in Southern England is one of the largest investments in Britain. EDF’s business strategy was not linked to Britain's affiliation with the EU and will have no effect on the company’s UK subsidiary.
