EDF has signed a preliminary agreement with Nuclear Power Corp of India Ltd (NPCIL) to build six nuclear reactors in West India.

The project is expected to become the world’s biggest nuclear contract. With six 1650 megawatt EPR reactors at a combined capacity of approximately 10,000 MW would make it one of the largest nuclear sites in history.

Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi said in a statement that the project should aim for construction to begin in early 2017.
